About the SWP Calculator
A Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) lets you take a fixed amount out of your investment every month while the remaining money keeps earning returns. It is often used to create a regular income in retirement.
Enter your corpus, monthly withdrawal, expected return and years. The calculator shows total withdrawals and what is left, and warns you if the money runs out.
Formula used
Each month: balance = balance × (1 + annual rate ÷ 12) − withdrawal. The loop repeats for every month of the period.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I withdraw safely?
If your monthly withdrawal is lower than the monthly growth, your corpus lasts longer. Try different amounts and watch the final value.
What if my corpus runs out?
The calculator shows a warning. Reduce the withdrawal, increase the corpus or expect a higher return.
Are SWP withdrawals taxed?
Each withdrawal is treated as a redemption, so the gains part may be taxable. Check current rules for your fund type.
